Why we're here

Barry Krug is charged with the deaths of Jordan Tyler Barkey, age 21, and Carlene Nicole Baker, age 20, who were killed on October 14, 2004 when Krug crossed a center dividing line and struck their motorcycle head-on. Tests after the crash revealed Krug to be under the influence of a combination of 4 different prescription drugs; Hydrocodone, a prescription form of Vicodin; Methadone; Carisoprodal, a prescription form of Soma; and Meprobamate, a prescription form of Dolophine. Records obtained during the investigation revealed that Krug signed a notice from his doctor indicating that these drugs could adversely affect his ability to drive a motor vehicle. If convicted, Krug faces a maximum penalty of 4 years 8 months in State Prison.
